Short answer: Sign in again with Sign in with Stripe and pick the Stripe account you want. Your payments aren't lost. They're in whichever account you were signed in to when you took them.
Why it happens
- Your Stripe account already works with another platform. Stripe lets one account be controlled by one platform (like Shopify or WooCommerce). If yours is, Stripe has you create a separate account for Payment for Stripe. It's connected automatically and uses the same Stripe login. Stripe explains the rule here.
- You picked or created a different account on Stripe's sign-in page. Signing in with Stripe shows all your accounts. Picking a different one, or creating one, puts the app on that account.
-
You started the sign-up flow. The Create your account screen starts a brand-new Stripe account from the email you enter. If you already have one, the app says:
You already have an account. Tap "Sign in with Stripe" to continue.
How to fix it
- Open the menu and tap Add Account (on Android, Add account). Choose Sign in with Stripe and pick the account you want from Stripe's list. If you pick the one you're already on, the app tells you. Pick a different one.
Same Account
That's the account you're already using. Sign in again and pick a different account from Stripe's list.
- Switch between accounts from the account switcher in the menu. You don't need to log out.
- In your Stripe Dashboard, click your business name at the top left to switch accounts and find the one that has your sales.
- If an account was created by mistake, remove it from the device with Remove Account From This Device (Android: Remove account from device). Your Stripe account isn't affected.
On an Enterprise team? Staff don't use Sign in with Stripe. Use Enterprise Login from the welcome screen.
