Can't sign in with Stripe: "Couldn't sign in" or a white screen

Short answer: When you tap Sign in with Stripe, the app opens Stripe's own sign-in page in your phone's browser, then returns to the app. If that page fails to load, stays white, or the app shows the message below, something is blocking or interrupting that browser step. Most of the time, switching network or turning off a blocker fixes it.

Couldn't sign in. Please try again.

Seeing a code request, or signed in to the wrong account? That's a different problem. See Can't log in?.

Why it happens

  • The sign-in page comes from Stripe (connect.stripe.com), including the Sign in with Google option. If your phone or network blocks it, the page can stay white or never return to the app.
  • VPNs, iCloud Private Relay, ad blockers, content blockers and DNS filters can block parts of that page.
  • Closing the browser window before it finishes cancels the sign-in.

Fixes, in the order most likely to work

  1. Try again. Tap Sign in with Stripe once more and wait for the page to finish loading before you tap anything.

  2. Switch networks. Turn Wi-Fi off and use mobile data, or the other way around. A work or guest Wi-Fi network that filters websites is a common cause.
  3. Turn off a VPN or Private Relay. Pause your VPN. On iPhone, also turn off iCloud Private Relay in iPhone Settings (tap your name, then iCloud, then Private Relay) while you sign in. You can turn it back on afterward.
  4. Turn off content blockers. Pause ad blockers, tracker blockers, and DNS-based filters for the sign-in. On iPhone, they're under Safari settings and Extensions. On Android, check your browser and any ad-blocking app.
  5. Update your browser. On Android the sign-in opens in your default browser (Chrome for most phones). Update it from the Play Store, and try again. On iPhone, update iOS.
  6. Try another way to sign in. If a white screen shows up right after you pick Google, go back and choose the Stripe email and password option instead.
  7. Close and reopen the app, then try again. If it still fails, restart the phone.
  8. Update Payment for Stripe from the App Store or Google Play.

If the message says the account was closed

You'll see this:

Account closed

This Stripe account was closed and can't be connected. Sign in with a different Stripe account, or contact Stripe support.

Retrying won't help. Tap Contact Stripe to ask Stripe about the account, or sign in with a different Stripe account.

If the app asks you to sign in again

You may see this message:

We couldn't finish signing you in. Tap Sign in with Stripe to continue.

Tap Sign in with Stripe and sign in once more.

Still stuck? Email us at support@pocketvendor.com and tell us your phone model, whether you use a VPN or blocker, and what the screen showed. If you're already signed in to another account in the app, use Menu → Help and the email icon.
