Short answer: Tag products in your Stripe Dashboard with a list name, then give a staff member that same name under Product list in Enterprise. They'll only see those products. Everyone else still sees your full catalog.
It's great for markets with several sellers, events with different menus, or partners who each sell their own items from one Stripe account.
payment_list = jewelry
1. Tag your products in Stripe
- Open your product catalog in the Stripe Dashboard.
- Pick a product. To tag a single price, open that price instead.
- Find the Metadata section and edit it.
- Add the key
payment_listwith your list name as the value, likejewelry, then save.
Where you set it decides what's tagged
- On a product: tags every one of its prices.
- On a price: tags only that price, and it wins over the product's tag.
-
More than one list: separate names with commas, like
jewelry, candles. Handy for a gift card every seller can sell.
List names aren't case-sensitive, so Jewelry and jewelry match.
2. Give a staff member a list
- Log in at enterprise.payment.co and open Users.
- Click Edit next to the staff member.
- Type the list name under Product list and click Save changes.
The Product list column on Users shows who has a list. All products means they see everything. To go back to the full catalog, clear the field and save.
Good to know
- Each staff member gets one list. Your own login always sees everything.
- New products don't show up for staff with a list until you tag them.
- A list that matches nothing shows an empty product list, so double-check the spelling.
-
payment_hidden = truestill hides an item from everyone, even if it's in their list. See Hide products from the app with metadata. - Staff with a list can still type a custom amount on the keypad.
- Changes show up the next time the app loads products, on iPhone and Android.
