Troubleshooting - Stripe Reader M2 won't turn on

We're sorry you're having trouble with your Stripe Reader M2.

  1. Check for physical damage to the reader.

  2. Ensure the reader is charged by plugging it into a wall outlet.

  3. Allow the unit to charge for 30 minutes and attempt to turn it on by pressing the power button for a few seconds.

  4. If the status lights do not turn on after the power button is pushed once, try a different power outlet to charge the device.

  5. Use a paperclip to reset the device using the reset button located at the back of the reader, near the USB port. Wait a couple of minutes and attempt to power on the reader again.

If the reader does not power on after following the steps above, contact Stripe support.
