The BBPOS Chipper 2X BT can update its firmware over Bluetooth. No cable needed. (It's an older, no-longer-sold reader, but updates still work if you have one.)
- Turn the reader on.
- Open the menu and go to Connect Card Reader (iOS), or tap Connect reader, then Bluetooth reader (Android).
- Tap your reader when it appears in the list. If an update is ready, the app asks before it connects.
- Tap Connect & Update (iOS) or Update (Android) and keep the reader close. The reader connects automatically once the update finishes.
