What are the fees for using Stripe and the Payment app?

Short answer: One simple fee: 1.2% per sale, on top of Stripe's fees (2.9% + 30¢ in the US). Accounts created since September 9, 2026 pay at least 15¢ per sale. No monthly fees.

Payment for Stripe charges one simple fee: 1.2% per transaction, on top of Stripe's fees for your country.

  • In the U.S., Stripe's fee is 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, including when you type in the card. There's no extra app fee for typed cards.
  • Example: $100 - $3.20 (Stripe fees) - $1.20 (app fee) = $95.60
  • Accounts created on or after September 9, 2026 have a 15¢ minimum app fee per transaction, so sales under about $12 are charged 15¢ rather than 1.2%. Accounts created before that date are charged 1.2% with no minimum.
  • Subscriptions created from the app also carry the 1.2% fee.

These fees are in the Terms of Service you agree to when you connect the app to your Stripe account, and on our website at paymentforstripe.com/pricing.

You can lower Stripe's fee to 2.7% + $0.05 per transaction by charging with a card reader. Order one from the Stripe Terminal shop at dashboard.stripe.com/terminal/shop.
