Troubleshooting Tap to Pay on iPhone

Tap to Pay on iPhone requires that you are using an iPhone XS or later and must be running the public version of iOS 16 or greater. Some common problems are:

  • Running a beta version of iOS 16
  • Attempting to use Tap to Pay on iPhone on an iPad
  • Not having a US-based Stripe account
  • Not having location services enabled for the Payment app on your device

If there is a problem when trying to add your business location, you may need to add it manually in your Stripe Dashboard: https://dashboard.stripe.com/terminal/locations (note: this location must be a US address).
