Short answer: Yes, Payment for Stripe works with the Verifone V660p in the US. It's a portable smart reader with a built-in receipt printer, and it docks for countertop use. It connects over the internet (Wi-Fi, or ethernet with the dock), not Bluetooth.
Where it's supported
The app lists the V660p for US accounts only. If your Stripe account is in another country, it won't appear in the reader list.
Where to get one
Order it from the Terminal shop in your Stripe Dashboard at dashboard.stripe.com/terminal/shop. Pricing and stock are set by Stripe. If you don't see it there, contact Stripe support.
Connect it
- Power on the V660p and connect it to the internet.
- Register it to your Stripe account. The reader shows a registration code. Enter it on the Terminal Readers page in your Stripe Dashboard.
- On iPhone, open the menu, tap Connect Card Reader, then choose Verifone V660p/P630/UX700 under Smart Readers. On Android, tap Connect reader, then Smart reader.
- Pick your reader from the list.
Your phone or tablet and the reader need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. The steps are similar to the S700 install guide.
What's not supported yet
- Itemized cart on the reader's screen.
- On-reader tipping. Tips are collected in the app instead.
- Signature collection on the reader. The setting is only for Stripe Reader S700, S710, and WisePOS E.
- Running Payment for Stripe on the V660p itself (Apps on Devices) is limited right now. Use the reader paired with your phone or tablet, as described above.
